Baden is the closest of the Wilmot Township communities, a growing village along Highway 7/8 with new subdivisions, a historic core around Castle Kilbride and farmland beginning at the last street.
Baden has grown quickly with families leaving Kitchener and Waterloo for a detached house and a yard, and the newer subdivisions off Snyder's Road are our most common Baden delivery. Lots are a good size for the price, so six and seven seat tubs like the J-365 and J-385 are the norm, and a bungalow town buyer downsizing from the city often picks a J-325 or an Aquasolus The Eden. Gate width still decides between a dolly and a crane, and most panels are a short run from the yard.
The village is on the Region's municipal water and shares the hardness everyone else in the area deals with, so scale control is part of every setup. The farms outside the village are on wells. Baden gets the full snowbelt experience, with drifting across the open fields west of town and freezing rain on the highway, so a lifter and a sheltered location are worth the small extra cost. Wilmot Township handles permits and setbacks; check with them before building a pad or a deck.
